New Delhi: World champion PV Sindhu has received a setback in the BWF rankings. She has slipped one ranking to the sixth position. Apart from this, there is no good news for him from the French Open Tour. India's top shuttlers including PV Sindhu and former winner Kidambi Srikanth got a tough draw in the French Open World Tour Super 750 badminton tournament starting on October 22 in Paris. The fifth-seeded Sindhu, who was initially ruled out at the China and Korea Open last month, will face Micheli Li in the first round.

Sindhu has a 5-2 record against her but Canada's number nine player in the world has never been easier to beat. Srikanth, recovering from a knee injury, won the title here in 2017. He will face world number two Cho Tian Chen of Chinese Taipei in the first round. Tien has defeated Srikanth in the last three games. The Indian player had defeated Chen only once at the 2014 Hong Kong Open.

Srikanth did not play in the China Open and Korea Open due to injury. Recently underperforming Saina Nehwal will take on Hong Kong's Cheyung Nagan Yi in the first round. Among other Indians, B Sai Praneeth will face veteran Lynn Dan, Sameer Verma's Kenta Nishimoto and HS Prannoy's former world champion Victor Axelsen.
