Ranchi: The High Court on Friday (January 7) lashed out at the state government in view of the rising corona cases in Jharkhand. In fact, the High Court reviewed the system for tackling the shortage of medical resources and corona in RIMS, after which resentment was expressed to the State Government. The court made a strong comment and asked if you would wake up when people reached the crematorium. According to the report, the High Court made an oral observation while hearing a PIL filed at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on lack of proper equipment including genome sequencing machines. The high court expressed disappointment over RIMS' approach in the procurement of medical equipment. A bench of Chief Justice Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad asked whether the genome sequencing machine will be purchased only after the spread of the omicron variant of corona infection across the state. This question was asked by the state government:- He asked, 'Why is it that the court has to make the state government realise its responsibilities?' The court directed the government and the hospital to file an affidavit in connection with the status of the purchase of genome sequencing machines. The court also expressed displeasure that rims do not have a single drug shop. In such a situation, patients are forced to buy medicines from outside.
