Even in minus 8 degree temperature, enthusiasm of Republic Day parade was shown in children

The 71st Republic Day has been celebrated amidst snow-capped plains at minus 8 degrees in Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. Deputy Commissioner KK Saroch hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the march past. A grand march past was organized by the students of Police, Home Guards, NSS, NCC, Scouts and Guides and KV School on this occasion. The temperature in the valley was recorded at minus 8 degrees, despite the weather being clear on Sunday. The parade was being led by Trupti Ram, ASI of Lahaul Spiti Police.

About 3 feet of snow was first removed from the machines for the parade. Despite the bitter cold, a huge crowd of people gathered in Keylong to celebrate Republic Day. It is being claimed that on Republic Day, a snow past was conducted at Lahaul Spiti, the only district headquarters in India. On the same occasion, Deputy Commissioner KK Saroch while addressing the gathering said that our Constitution declares our country a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. Referring to the development of the district, the Deputy Commissioner said that the state government allocates 9% of the budget every year for various developmental activities in the tribal areas.

He said that under the Tribal Sub Plan of Lahaul Spiti, a provision of Rs 51 crore 18 lakh has been made for development works during the current financial year. 14 Panchayats of the same Lahaul division have been connected to the internet through V-set, on which Rs 85 lakh has been spent. On the one hand, children of Government Senior Secondary School Keylong, Primary School Keylong, Kendriya Vidyalaya Keylong, and Play School are presenting patriotic songs along with the cultural program. Many dignitaries including SP Rajesh Dharmani, Assistant Commissioner Amar Negi, PO ITDP Smritika Negi, BDO Surendra Thakur, Executive Engineer Electricity Board Vikram Rana, DSP Hemant, TAC Member Nawang worshipers have been involved.
