Indore: Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district has killed an elderly person who set himself on fire. Ramesh Prajapati, a 70-year-old veteran who set himself on fire by protesting against CAA, was an activist of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M). The CPI (M) has reacted strongly to the death of its workers. The CPI-M has described the move taken by Prajapati in frustration.

He also threw a few leaflets during self-immolation. During this time he was badly burnt. He was admitted to the hospital where he was undergoing treatment. He died late Sunday evening. Tukoganj police station in-charge Nirmal Shriwas confirmed Ramesh's death.
