Thiruvananthapuram: Congress veteran Shashi Tharoor said that if the path to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) leads to the National Population Register (NPR) and the National Citizen Register (NRC), then it will be completely in the hands of Pakistan founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah Will win He said that due to CAA, Jinnah's ideas about the concept of the country are already winning in India, but there is still an alternative.

On Sunday, on the sidelines of Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), Tharoor said, 'I will not say that Jinna has won, but it will definitely say that Jinna is winning. Even now, the country has the option to choose between Jinnah and Gandhi's idea of the country. CAA has come into force in December amid protests taking place in many parts of the country. Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Shashi Tharoor said that Jinnah's logic has been adopted to make any religion in CAA the basis of nationality, whereas Gandhi's view was that all religions are the same.

He said, 'On CAA you can say that one step will be taken towards Jinnah. But if the next step will be NPR and NRC, then you assume that Jinnah has completely won. Tharoor further said, 'Never been asked where your parents were born before. Employees who submitted data were never allowed to ask 'questionable citizenship' questions. The term 'doubtful citizenship' is used in the NPR and it is purely a BJP discovery.
