Chennai: Recently the National Population Register (NPR) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been included as a valid document in the Know Your Customer Verification (KYC) while opening a bank account. But, doing so has created a stir in a village in Tamil Nadu. After the RBI decision, a local branch of the Central Bank issued an advertisement saying that the NPR will now be accepted in the KYC verification. After this announcement of the bank, the Muslim people of Kayalpattinam village in the state got scared and started withdrawing money from the bank. During this time, hundreds of people started queuing up so that they could withdraw money from the bank. It is being told that most of the people in the queue belonged to the Muslim community. During this time people were also afraid of bad experiences during demonetisation. Seeing the huge crowd in the bank, the bank workers appeared helpless. Not only this, in other parts of the state, the same type of crowd was seen on banks. Seeing this, bank officials have urged leaders of Muslim communities to explain to the people. After this, these leaders explained to the people and they should not be afraid. After this, the situation got better. It is being told that due to this, 1 crore rupees have been withdrawn from the banks. Meanwhile, bank officials said that if anyone has an Aadhaar card, it is sufficient for KYC. However, if someone has a PAN card, they will have to provide another document for address proof. This includes passport, voter ID, DL, NREGA card, Aadhaar etc. Also Read: No improvement in FMCG sector even this year, growth rate to be 9 to 10 percent Market opens with a rise today, these stocks saw a boom Gold Price: Gold futures fall sharply, silver also slips Indigo offers tickets at cheap rates, prices start from 999/-
