New Delhi: Ajinkya Rahane, who was named as the vice-captain of the Indian Test team for the West Indies tour, has been kept away from the ODI squad. Rahane is responsible for either the middle order, the fourth or the other, if needed, but he is now being constantly ignored in the ODI team. Rahane has been out of the ODI squad for the last 17 months, while the Indian team has played the ODI series against several countries and every time Rahane is sidelined. So, should it be assumed that he is now the only Test batsman? As for T20 internationals, he has been running out of the Indian T20 team for the last three years. Rahane played his last ODI against South Africa at Centurion on 16 February 2018 for Team India. This was Rahane's last series for the Indian team. Jonty Rhodes applied for Team India's fielding coach The series was played in South Africa and he had a chance in the six-match ODI series but failed to prove himself in the middle order and has not yet returned to the team. On T20 international cricket, Rahane played his last match for the Indian team on August 28, 2016. Match against West Indies A from today, expectations high from Ridhiman Saha It's been almost three years since he failed to make a comeback in the smallest format of cricket for Team India and it doesn't seem like he'll be able to play in this format for India. As for Ajinkya Rahane's ODI career, he has scored 2962 runs in 90 games for India at an average of 35.26 while he has three centuries to his name. His best score in ODIs is 111 runs. In his T20 international career, Rahane has scored 375 runs in 20 games at an average of 20.83 and his best score is 61.
