North Sound: Indian wicketkeeper Ridhiman Saha will return to the first-class matches after 18 months of informal Test against West Indies A against India A.  It will be his first match after recovering from a career-infested shoulder injury. The India A team includes two Test experts Saha and Hanu Vihari and both to prepare for the two-Test series beginning at the end of August. Saha will be 35 years old in three months and his injury was severe due to improper care during treatment at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

It will be very difficult for this 35-year-old player to make a comeback after being fit. Saha, who was out of the team for most of his career, suffered an injury during the IPL, after which Rishabh Pant got a chance in the national team and strengthened his claim to the team by setting a century against England's Australia. Saha may once again appear in the role of assistant.

Experts are yet to digest why the injury that led to Lokesh Rahul recovering in two months took Saha more than a year to recover from it. A BCCI official said, KS Bharat missed the Indian team. Saha will be wicketkeeping for the first time in 18 months all day or 120 overs. After that, he will also have to bat. After his treatment at the NCA, the care was not done properly, which required surgery.
