Sensex surges 358 points

After a sharp decline in the last session, the last trading day of the week, which came to a close on the stock market on Friday, closed with the green mark. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 358.91 points, or 0.98 per cent, to open at 36912.51. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 0.79 per cent to 85.20 points, to open at 10890.75.

In yesterday's business, the Dow Jones in the US was up 52.31 points, up 0.20 per cent and closed at 26,815. The Nasdaq gained 39.28 points, or 0.37 per cent, to close at 10,672. The S&P 500 index gained 9.67 points to 0.30 per cent and closed at 3,247. The same is also an edge in Asian markets today.

Talking about the heavyweight shares, the shares of M & M, power grid, Reliance, Cipla and Dr. Reddy opened on the green mark today. Shares of ONGC, NTPC, HDFC Life and SBI Life open on the red mark. Looking at the sectoral index, all the categories were on the rise today. These include it, PSU banks, realty, pharma, media, finance services, metals, autos, FMCG, banks and private banks. During the pre-Open, the Sensex gained 438.29 points, or 1.20 per cent, to 36991.81 at 9.12 a.m. The nifty was up 104.85 points, up 0.97 per cent at 10910.40. The market was very good today.
