RPF constable loses life by train while attempting to save woman

LUCKNOW: A Forty-four-year-old head constable of railway protection force (RPF) lost his life while attempting to save a woman who was about jump in front of a train, TOI reported. The incident took place about 40 km away from Prayagraj at Bharwari railway station in Kaushambi district at around 11.41pm on Tuesday night.

According to the report “A woman was about to jump in front of Prayagraj-Jaipur Covid-19 Special Express, when on-duty head constable Gyan Chand saw her from platform number one. He raised an alarm and ran towards the woman who was standing at the edge of platform number two.

Chand shouted at her to walk away from track but she didn’t listen. In the nick of time, Gyan Chand pushed the woman away from speeding train but he himself lost his balance and collided with the train. He was killed on the spot,” said public relation officer of Prayagraj railway division.
