It is claimed on social media that the government has increased the fee of the railway recruitment board to Rs. 500. The Press Information Bureau has told its tv handle that the claim is misleading. The fee charged by the board in the name of examination from the unemployed was only nine crores in 2013-14. By 2018, the amount increased to 900 crores. According to Khabar, there was no appointment on behalf of the Railway Recruitment Board in 2016-17.
