'Not a single Hindu will go outside the country' RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on NRC

Kolkata: RSS head Mohan Bhagwat has said that Hindus whose names have not been included in Assam NRC or any other NRC need not be disturbed. According to a report in The Telegraph, Mohan Bhagwat said this during a meeting of the Sangh's affiliated organizations in Uluberia in Howrah district on Sunday. The meeting was attended by 37 organizations associated with the association.

Bhagwat further said that there are reports that out of the 19 lakh citizens whose names could not be included in the Assam NRC, 12 lakh are from the Hindu community. Bhagwat said, "I want to assure you that not a single Hindu needs to leave the country because of NRC." He said, "The Sangh is with the Hindus, Hindus living anywhere in this country have no need to be concerned with the NRC."

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader who attended the meeting on Sunday, reacting to Bhagwat said, "We expect the Union Home Minister and BJP national president Amit Shah to also join the Hindu community." We will give the same assurance to the people as Bhagwat has given. When Amit Shah visits Bengal on October 1, we will demand the same from him. "
