RT-PCR test mandatory for passengers returning from Brazil-Africa variant in India

New Delhi: Vaccination camp is going on fast in one side of the country, but in the midst of this, the entry of Brazil and South Africa variants of the coronavirus has also been done in India. After the knock of this variant, states like Karnataka and Kerala have increased their precaution measures and plead to follow them strictly. Now any international traveler will have to undergo an RT-PCR test on arrival at Bangalore airport.

This investigation will be done of returnees from Brazil or South Africa. According to the order issued,  irrespective of whether they had a negative certificate for the test before boarding the flights then also the RT-PCR test is a must for passengers on arrival at Bengaluru Airport. If any person is found positive in the test here at the airport, then he will be kept in quarantine for 14 days. Also, its sample will be sent for genome sequencing. When two RT-PCR tests of a person come negative, they will be discharged after that.

The day before, the Karnataka government had also issued an advisory for people coming from Kerala. According to this, whoever is coming from Kerala to Bengaluru and staying in a hotel-restaurant or any other place, then it will be mandatory to show a negative certificate of RT-PCR test.
