CHENNAI: Dassault Rafale has once again become the subject of controversy in Tamil Nadu after a DMK minister questioned the price of Annamalai's watch by Tamil Nadu BJP President. Annamalai was seen wearing the Special Edition Bell & Ross Limited Edition Raphael French Fighter Jet watch. DMK minister Senthil Balaji took to Twitter to question how a man who has only 4 goats can buy a watch worth Rs 5 lakh. Senthil Balaji asked- ''The French company made only 500 pieces of the Rafale watch costing Rs 5 lakh. The man who claims to own 4 goats is wearing this watch! Can he share the receipt of the watch he bought?" Responding to this, Annamalai said that he wanted to wear the watch as a nationalist. Further, he said- This watch will stay with me till I am alive. This is a collector's edition. Who else can buy other than us Indians? For our nation, this watch was made by Dassault using parts from the Rafale aircraft. Annamalai said – since the arrival of Rafale, the rules of war have changed, and India's reach has increased significantly. Annamalai claimed that he wore the 149th watch out of 500. Significantly, the last Rafale aircraft has reached India two days ago amid a clash with China in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The 36th Rafale aircraft was welcomed with a water cannon salute at Air Force Station Hasimara. While giving the news, the Air Force officer said that the 36th aircraft was brought from France and with this, the IAF has received complete delivery of 4.5 generation fighter aircraft.
