America and Russia come together against Taliban, says 'Islamic Emirates Afghanistan not acceptable'

Washington: The United States (USA) and Russia have agreed that the two of them will together agree to convince the international community not to support any effort to restore 'Islamic Emirates Afghanistan'. Before separating itself from power, the Taliban used to address their government as 'Islamic Emirate Afghanistan'.

According to a newspaper report, a joint statement issued by the US State Department said that the US and Russia praised the Taliban's commitment towards Afghan Islamic rule, determined by the inter-Afghan dialogue and political process. They want to reiterate that 'Islamic Emirates Afghanistan' is not recognized by the international community and the United Nations. The international community will not support any attempt to accept or restore it.

The Taliban said on Saturday that they are still the 'legitimate rulers' of Afghanistan and that it is their responsibility to reinstate the 'Islamic government' before being evicted by the US military in 2001. He said that the peace agreement reached Doha with the US has not affected the situation that their top leader, Mulla Haibatullah, is the legitimate ruler of Afghanistan. However, the Taliban have not used the word 'Islamic Emirate Afghanistan' in their statement.
