UP by-election Live: SP leads in 5 seats, BJP is behind

Lucknow: Counting of votes for the by-elections in 11 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh continues. The results of the counting of votes are expected later in the afternoon. Tight security arrangements have been made in this regard. Party workers are frozen at counting centers to know the counting trends. No counting center has been allowed to go to any counting center amid security arrangements.

Counting of Lucknow Cantt assembly seat by-election is going on at Ramabai site. District election officer Kaushal Raj Sharma along with returning officer Abhinav Ranjan reached the Ramabai venue and inspected the counting of votes. A total of 25 rounds of counting on 14 tables have started here. In the first round of Pratapgarh Sadar by-election, the BJP-Apna Dal alliance was leading by 1509 votes. In the first round, the coalition candidate got 2414 votes, Congress got 905 and SP got 935 votes. In the first round of counting of the Iglas assembly by-election in Aligarh, the BSP candidate got 4335 votes, BJP 1160 and Congress 708 votes.

SP has taken the lead from Zaidpur seat of Barabanki. In Gangoh assembly seat of Saharanpur, Samajwadi Party candidate Indrasen leads Congress' Noman Masood by 74 votes. BSP candidate Abhay Kumar Bunty is leading from BJP candidate Rajkumar Sahyogi in the first round from Iglas Vidhan Sabha of Aligarh. If we talk about the entire 11 seats, the SP has gained in 5 seats.
