Shaakuntalam was earlier to release in cinemas on February 17, it has been postponed by a couple of months. The film’s makers on Friday confirmed that the film will now hit screens worldwide on April 14. Shaakuntalam’s makers of the movie have announced a new release date. The makers took to social media and wrote "#Shaakuntalam in theatres worldwide on April 14," the makers tweeted alongside a new poster. Shaakuntalam which will also release in 3D is being presented by Dil Raju under Sri VenkateswaraSamantha's outfits have been designed by Neeta Lulla while Mani Sharma has given music to the film and Prawin Pudi is the editor. Recently Samantha said, “No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema and cinema loves me back. I strongly believe that this love will grow manifold with Shaakuntalam.”. The mythological drama is based on Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharat. This prestigious project has its music composed by Mani Sharma. The ensemble star cast includes Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhu Bala, Gautami and many other notable actors. The filming for Shaakuntalam was wrapped up in August 2021. Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha will also be making her Tollywood debut as prince Bharata in Shaakuntalam. The film will be released in Telugu Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on February 17, 2023.
