Mumbai: NCB officer Sameer Wankhede father Dhyandev Wankhede has filed a defamation case against Maharashtra government minister Nawab Malik. In fact, during the hearing last Wednesday, the court granted an advisory to Sameer and his father. Let me tell all of you that while hearing the case yesterday, the Bombay High Court (Bombay HC) said, "Sameer Wankhede is a "government official" and anyone can review his functioning.'' On the other hand, Nawab Malik's lawyers will file an affidavit for further hearing in the case on November 12. Let us also inform all of you that Nawab Malik has levelled serious allegations against Sameer Wankhede like corruption in the Mumbai cruise drug case and getting a job with the wrong caste certificate. On the other hand, On the other hand, Sameer's father Dhyandev Wankhede had gone to court in the past to recover the defamation compensation amount of Rs 1.25 crore from Malik and to prevent him from making any fake or wrong remarks against the Wankhede family in future. In fact, during the hearing of the defamation case, Dhyandev Wankhede's lawyer Arshad Sheikh questioned, ''Why should Sameer explain to a person who is just an MLA, not a court.'' Hearing this, Justice Madhav Jamdar said, 'You are a government official. All you have to prove is that tweets (tweets by Malik) are wrong at first sight. Your son is not just a person, but he is a Government official and any member of the public can review him.' On the other hand, the court asked Malik's lawyer Atul Damle, 'Is it not your responsibility to verify the documents before submitting? Did you verify the documents as a responsible citizen and spokesperson of the National Political Party?' On the other hand, Nawab Malik's allegations are false and sought more time in Wankhede's lawyer to file an additional affidavit to prove that it is false. Let me tell you that the court gave him time till Friday and asked the NCP leader's lawyer to file an affidavit in this regard that 'he had verified the documents (with personal details of Sameer Wankhede) before posting on Twitter.' The court will now hear the matter next on November 12.
