Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is to make his comeback during the upcoming India-Australia series in the commentary panel. Since March, the famous commentator was away from the on-air duties. Before the start of India-South Africa ODI series, the BCCI dismissed Manjrekar and it was confirmed when he didn't travel to Dharamsala for the opening ODI. Sanjay even wrote to BCCI before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 started to bring him back in the panel but the board did not agreed. The board cannot have much say in picking the panel for India-Australia series as Cricket Australia (CA) holds the hosting rights. CA will make choices about picking the commentary panel and other decisions. The BCCI is yet to reveal about the official reason behind the dismissal. During the 2019/20 season, former cricketer was in limelight for his few controversial statements. Manjrekar had called Ravindra Jadeja a bits-and-pieces player during the World Cup. He also questioned Harsha Bhogle's credentials on the air in November 2019. Apart from Manjrekar, Harsha Bhogle, Glenn McGrath, Nick Knight, Ajay Jadeja, Murali Kartik and Ajit Agarkar will also be seen in commentary panel.
