French Consulate guard in Jeddah was attacked by a Saudi Man with a sharp tool, imprisoned

Few hours after an attack in French city, Nice, a Saudi man attacked French guard outside the French consulate in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia with a  "sharp tool". The attacker was arrested. French embassy said the consulate was at the receiving end of an "attack by knife which targeted a guard". The guard was hospitalized and is out of danger.

The French embassy in a statement says "The French embassy strongly condemns this attack against a diplomatic outpost which nothing could justify". The attack happened on the same day just in few hours after a knife attack in Nice city of Paris that killed three people. The attacker beheaded a woman. The attacker was heard shouting "Allahu Akbar" and the attack is considered as an terrorist attack. Mayor Christian Estrosi said on Twitter the knife attack had happened in or near the city's Notre Dame church and that police had detained the attacker.

France which is still saddened with beheading of a middle school teacher earlier this month by a man of Chechen origin. The attacker said he wanted to punish the teacher for showing the Prophet Mohammed in a civics lesson about freedom of speech. Followed by the beheading, French people start to display cartoons on walls and on marches, that prompted anger in parts of the Muslim world, some Muslim countries imposing #BoycottFrance and anti-Macron agenda.
