With the recent happenings in France, the country has become an easy target for upholding freedom of expression, Emmanuel Macron is paying the price for not believing in the politics of appeasement. France to hold its next general election in 2022 has 6 million Muslims living in the country, comprising more than 8% of the French population, the highest tally in the whole of Europe. French Muslims knows the threat of Islamic terrorism is real in France and it has been for a while also the European governments and the Islamic leaders knows it. Macron who is facing vote in two years could've used secularism as an excuse to appease French Muslims utilizing them as a votebank there by securing his path to the next election but didn't choose because he really cares for French people.  But people narrowed Macron's war with calculation of prejudice and Islamophobia.

A recent look about what happened in France since 2013, 1,700 French nationals have joined the ISIS since 2013. Mosques and the Islamic institutes have been found receiving funds from Arab countries. France's own Muslim citizens planned attacks, January 2015 17 people killed in serious of attacks, November 2015, another series killed 130 people, January 2016 a man was wearing an explosive belt was shot dead, July 2016, a 86 year old priest was killed by two terrorist in a church, July 2016 a terrorist drove a cargo truck and killed 86 people. A lot more the 2017 airport attack, the 2017 Champs-Elysees attack, the 2018 Paris knife attack, the 2018 Strasbourg shooting. In the last 10 months, 7 major attack have taken place in France, from ramming cars to stabbing Police and finally beheading of a middle-school teacher.  People say Emmanuel has a point to say Islam is a religion in crisis.

The Muslim dominated areas in France are territories where government control is weak, territories where Islamic laws and  customs prevail and extremism thrives. Macron is trying to get back the control, proposed new laws, he wants to push religion out of education, push religion out of the public sector and wants to rein in the radicals. Macron's message is simple, "constitution above religion and all citizens equal by law". France, Radical Islam poses a major challenge to French society and the President is trying to devise a version that is compatible with country's laws and value. The experts says, instead of trolling him, the world must support him because who knows which country, which government and which leader will have to take similar steps tomorrow.
