Saudi Arabia condemns Islamic blasphemy in France

Saudi Arabia, the birth place of Islam is condemning any kind of offence relating to Prophet Mohammad and any attempts to link Islam with terrorism. On Tuesday, Saudi condemned cartoons offending the Prophet Mohammad in France. An official statement from the foreign ministry said the Gulf state condemns all acts of terrorism, in an apparent reference to the beheading of a teacher in Paris this month by an Islamist radical avenging the use of cartoons of the Prophet in a class on freedom of expression.

Middle East boycotts French products over Prophet cartoons

The state media statement said "Freedom of expression and culture should be a beacon of respect, tolerance, and peace that rejects practices and acts which generate hatred, violence, and extremism and are contrary to coexistence". The blasphemy according to Islam done by France sparked anger in the Islamic world. Turkey has called for boycott of French goods and Pakistan parliament has passed a resolution to call off its envoy from France. The supermarkets in Qatar and Kuwait are boycotting the French products with further calls to spurn French products in Jordan and other states.

The largest economy in the Arab world, Saudi Arabia, boycott Carrefour was the second most trending hashtag on Sunday. The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan urges Emmanuel to have "mental checks" and protests in Muslim-majority nations. He said French President has lost his way in two days over the treatment of Muslims.
