Jammu: The search for the pilot of the crashed helicopter and other Indian Fars officers at Ranjit Sagar Dam in Kathua, Jammu, and Kashmir resumed on Wednesday morning. Now, Indian navy divers have also joined the search operation. The debris of the helicopter was seized on Tuesday due to a rescue operation. One of the same officers said that the goods seized by the rescue team include helicopter skids, fuel tanks, stabilizers, helmets, and identity cards of one of the two pilots. Two Indian Army pilots, one Lieutenant Colonel, and the other captain are said to be missing in the accident. An Indian Army helicopter has crashed at Ranjit Sagar Dam on Tuesday. At present, rescue operation of police and NDRF team along with army personnel is underway. The rescue operation is facing difficulties due to the high depth of the same dam. The dam is located 30 kilometers away from Pathankot in Punjab. The incident took place around 10 am on Tuesday. It happened around 20 minutes. The Dhruv helicopter of the Army Aviation Squadron had taken off from Mamoon Cantt. The helicopter was patrolling near Ranjit Sagar Dam at the time of the accident. It fell directly into the dam as it hit the hill. The helicopter belonged to the Army's 254 ALH-WSI Squadron at Pathankot, which lost a Rudra helicopter in January 2021.
