Stock market did not show strength, Sensex declined

Today, the second trading day of the week means the stock market opened on a flat level on Tuesday. The Bombay Stock Exchange's flagship index Sensex started 60.76 points down 0.15 percent at 40533.04. On the other hand, the National Stock Exchange's Nifty opened at 11934.65, with a moderate gain of 3.70 points, meaning 0.03 per cent.

If we talk about the big stocks, today the shares of Infosys, Wipro, Cipla, Asian Paints and Adani Ports started with  the green mark. On the other hand, Axis Bank, Grasim, Gail, Bharti Airtel and JSW Steel were the major losers. If we look at the sectoral index, then apart from FMCG and IT, all the categories opened with a fall. These include pharma, media, PSU banks, realty, finance services, metal, auto, banks and private banks.

During the same pre-open at 9.02 am, the Sensex was at 3.39 points meaning 40597.19 after a moderate gain of 0.01 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty was up 18.30 points, 0.15 per cent, at 11949.30. The Sensex-Nifty closed in the eighth consecutive trading session on the previous trading day. The Sensex gained 0.21 per cent to close at 40593.80, up 84.31 points. The Nifty closed at the level of 11930.95 with a gain of 0.14 per cent (16.75 points).
