New Delhi: Party leaders are seen angry after some people of Shaheen Bagh's minority community joined the BJP, who were the centre of protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Leaders of a section of the Delhi BJP unit have expressed their displeasure at these members joining the party. Earlier this year, Shaheen Bagh had emerged as the centre of protests against CAA. A prominent Delhi BJP leader said, "These people have created an uncomfortable situation in front of the party." He said that "The Shaheen Bagh area was the centre of anti-CAA protests. It is also linked to the riots in north-west Delhi". Another leader has claimed that even the party high command did not like the decision to recruit these people in the party. He said, "In Delhi BJP Some senior officials were summoned by the national leaders and cautioned not to make such a massive political mistake from now on. They were upset about why such a sensitive issue was not brought to their notice earlier". On Sunday, Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta was present in the program organized in the party office which included these people in the party. Delhi BJP leader Nigat Abbas had a big hand in getting these people included in the party. Nigat said that he has not received any complaint from senior state leaders or national-level leaders.
