Congress has again attacked the Modi government regarding Prime Minister Cares Fund. The party's national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has been raising questions on Prime Minister Cares Fund citing a news report. He said that asking questions on the PM Cares fund is "anti-national". In a tweet filled Surjewala said that the ventilators purchased from public funds are failing and making advance payments in crores, while the Supreme Court has not even asked for CAG audit?
According to the information received, Congress has been constantly raising questions about the Prime Minister's Fund. Recently, the Supreme Court refused to order the transfer of the money deposited in the Prime Minister's Cares Fund to the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF). The Supreme Court said in its decision that the Prime Minister's Fund is also a charity fund. Any person or organization is donating money to NDRF. Amidst the hearing, the central government has defended the PM CARES fund in the Supreme Court.
The PM has formed a public charitable trust called 'Citizens Assistance and Relief Fund (PM Cares Fund)' to deal with emergencies in the difficult times of Covid-19. To donate to this fund, people are demanding from Indians living abroad. This fund was created for the economic assistance of the affected people during the event of natural disaster or any other crisis.
