New Delhi: Preparations are underway to play the shehnai at the zoo in the national capital Delhi. In fact, the search for the bride of 'Shankar' intensified in the Delhi Zoo. Shankar is a 27 year old elephant of African origin. He was brought to the Delhi Zoo in the year 1998. Till the year 2001, Shankar lived with his partner. But, an illness snatched his partner from him. Since then Shankar has been waiting for his new bride for many years. In view of this, the zoo administration has also started vigorously searching for the bride. All zoo houses are being contacted for this. Along with this, a bride is being searched for Shankar on the global stage as well. Akanksha Mahajan, director of Delhi Zoo, told that Shankar had a partner till the year 2001. But, she died of some disease. After this Shankar is alone. Talks are on in zoos around the world to find a bride for him. African elephants have also been found at some places, but their age is less. A partner of at least 20 to 22 years is being searched for him. The US Embassy's help is also being sought in the effort to find a bride for Shankar. Actually, according to the Central Policy of Zoo, no animal is kept alone. They are kept in pairs. After the death of Shankar's partner, he was kept with Asian elephants. But, Shankar is an African elephant. This is the reason why Shankar's diet, height and saddle are also very different from Asian elephants. The zoo director tells that when Shankar was kept with other elephants, he got angry many times. They started fighting among themselves. Watch! New Parliament Building Inauguration: Key Highlights Threat to PM Modi's life...!
