Mumbai: The stock market opened with weakness on Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) 's major Sensex and Nifty of the National Stock Exchange started at the red mark. The Sensex opened at 40525.58, down 181.73 points (0.45%). The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was down 50.10 points (0.42%) at 11,887.55. According to analysts, further market fluctuations will continue. Therefore, investors should take precautions. Talking about the legendary shares, the shares of Shree Cement, Ultratec Cement, Britannia, Reliance and Bharti Airtel have started with an edge today. Bajaj Finance, HCL Tech, ICICI Bank, SBI and Adani ports started with a red mark. Looking at the sectoral index, today all sectors are open with weakness. These include Pharma, IT, Media, FMCG, PSU banks, Realty, Finance services, Metals, Autos, Banks and Private Banks. During the pre-Open, the Sensex was trading at 40512.91 with a weakness of 194.40 points, or 0.48%, at 9.02 am. The nifty declined 114.60 points, or 0.96%, to 11823.10.
