Sensex crosses 36 thousand mark

New Delhi: Due to some positive news being received in the world in the case of Coronavirus infection, the Indian stock market was also illuminated on the fourth business day of the month. On Monday, the Bombay Stock Exchange's major index Sensex opened at 36,313.46 in the morning with a gain of 292 points. By 10.01 in the morning, the Sensex reached 36452 with an increase of 431 points.

Bank, IT saw good growth. Except pharma, all other sectors are seen in green mark. National Stock Exchange's leading index Nifty Fifty started trading above 10,700. The Nifty also opened at 10723.85 with a strength of 116.50 points. Due to strong signals from foreign markets, the trading trend in the Indian stock market remains strong. 883 shares gained and 302 declined in early trade.

On Monday, the rupee showed strength in early trade. The rupee opened up about 14 paise to 74.50 against the dollar. The rupee had closed at 74.64 on Friday. On Friday, the stock market also continued for the third consecutive trading day. The Sensex gained over 250 points during trading. At the end of trading, the Sensex gained 177.72 points, or 0.50 per cent, to 36,021.42. Talking about the Nifty, it was up by 55.65 points or 0.53 percent and it was seen trading at 10,607.35 points.
