MUMBAI: Indian markets are open on the day of weekly expiry. The Sensex started above 200, with a strong gain of 200 points, currently, it is trading above 270 points. The Nifty is also trading around 11350 with a gain of 70 points. The banking index, which has been beating for the past several days, started banging today, the Nifty Bank is showing an increase of more than 1 per cent. The rest of the sectoral indices are seen buying in realty, metal, IT, FMCG and auto. All sectoral indices of Nifty are trading with an increase. At present, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 39 stocks dominate, trading is going on with the remaining 11 declines. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 24 are in the green mark, other 6 are in decline. Earlier, on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week, the Sensex had fallen 171 points to close at 38,194 and the Nifty fell 39 points from the previous session to close at 11,278. On Wednesday, 12 of the 30 stocks of the Sensex were strong, while 18 stocks closed in the red mark. The five fastest-growing Sensex stocks on Wednesday included Tata Steel (3.04 per cent), Reliance (2.57 per cent), Sun Pharma (1.40 per cent), Bharti Airtel (1.33 per cent) and Nestle India (1.10 per cent).
