Kochi: Will Shashi Tharoor resign from Congress like Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad? In fact, such speculations had started since the pre-determined defeat of Shashi Tharoor in the election for the post of President in Congress after 22 years. After Gandhi family-backed candidate Mallikarjun Kharge became congress president, there was speculation that Tharoor might be disappointed with the Congress. However, nothing like this happened immediately after the election, but there has been a stir within the party for the last few days. Shashi Tharoor is currently on a visit to Malabar. Congress is also worried about this. Shashi Tharoor continued his visit on Tuesday, meeting senior leaders of UDF-ally IUML here, saying he was not afraid of anyone and no one ought to fear him. In fact, the media had asked Tharoor who is afraid of his visit to Kerala, in response to which Tharoor said that I am not afraid of anyone and there is no need for anyone to fear him. He also said he was not interested in forming any faction within the state Congress. Shashi Tharoor's remarks assume significance amid speculation that a section of the Congress leadership in Kerala seems apprehensive of his growing support and the emergence of a Tharoor faction within the party in the state, where the party lost power to rival CPM in 2016. Tharoor, however, downplayed his meeting with IUML leaders at Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal's residence in Panakkad, saying it was just a courtesy call on his way to an event in the district. This Congress senior leader quits, likely to join BJP Azam Khan in trouble again, has given contentious remark on Mayawati 15 years ago Yogi govt will withdraw all cases against former MLA Ali Yusuf Ali, know why?
