After leaving BJP, Akali Dal to protest for farmers

Amritsar: Bjp's oldest ally Shiromani Akali Dal (Shiad) has severed ties with the Modi government and NDA over farm bills. Now the Akali Dal will launch an agitation for farmers across the country including Punjab. The agitation will be launched in Punjab from October 1. The Akali Dal will stage a continuous protest against the ordinance.

Talking to a private news channel, Shiromani Akali Dal (Shiad) National President Sukhbir Singh Badal said that he has not made any sacrifice but has broken the relationship with the government and NDA for the betterment of the farmers. Talking to reporters on CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Badal said that if he wants to lead, first exit his palace and get into the fray among the farmers.

Tmc MP Derek O'Brien said that we support Sukhbir Singh Badal and Akali Dal's stand with the farmers. It is in the DNA of TMC to fight for farmers. In 2006, Mamata Banerjee sat on a 26-day dharna for the rights of farmers. We oppose the Agriculture Bill because it is going to put the role of states, MSP, PDS and procurement at risk.
