Recently, former Pakistani fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar confirmed that he was in discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the top position in the country's cricket set-up. He spoke about it last Thursday, and he said that the post is of the chief selector. As per the recent information, the PCB's plan is to reduce the burden of the chief selector from the shoulders of chief coach Misbah-ul-Haq and give Shoaib the role. Shoaib said on the YouTube show 'Cricket Hawk' last Thursday, "I won't deny it, yes, I had some discussion with the board and I am interested in playing a big role in Pakistan cricket. But nothing has been decided yet". In addition, he said, "I have won a very comfortable life. I played cricket on my own terms, but now life has come to a standstill. But I am willing to give up this comfort," he said, "I am ready to work with the PCB. I'm not afraid of the advice of others. If there is an opportunity, I will give time." Shoaib has categorically refused to give details of the discussions with top PCB officials.
