Shubman Gill surpassed Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan on Wednesday to become the fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in ODIs. He did so in in 19 innings. Along with Imam Ul Haq of Pakistan, Gill, who made his ODI debut in January 2019, became the joint second-fastest player to 1000 runs in terms of innings. In 18 innings, Fakhar Zaman had scored more than 1000 runs. In 24 innings, Gill's fellow Indian colleagues Kohli and Dhawan, whom he has replaced, had amassed 1000 runs. After reaching his second consecutive ODI century in the first ODI match against New Zealand, the 23-year-old accomplished the milestone.
