Sikh riots in Ramlila, indecent comments on Hindu deities. Is 'Khalistan' becoming Punjab?

Amritsar: According to media reports, ramlila was going on in the pandal when some Sikhs reached there with sticks and sticks and started abusing Hindu gods and organisers. Anarchic elements with khalistani mentality resorted to violence on the spot.

Chief Director of the programme Rakesh Sehgal and committee chairman Manohar Lal Kapoor told the media that the committee members tried to pacify the Sikh group but they did not listen to one and continued to create trouble. Sikhs allegedly made indecent remarks against Hindu deities including Lord Ram accusing the committee of being "pro-BJP". This hurt the sentiments of the devotees present there. Ramlila had to be stopped for several hours due to threats and disturbances by these anarchic elements. Organisers say the police did not take any stringent steps against the "goons" even after the complaints. The organizers have termed the police action as disappointing.

A few days ago, Shiromani Akali Dal (Shi'ad) Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal bowed his head in the court of Mother Chintapurni. The editor of 'Daily Watchman' had made objectionable remarks in the article. The news was titled, 'Your peo noon chhad sukhbir aaya begani maa's court. Hindu organisations had expressed outrage over the use of the word 'Begani Maa' for Mata Chintapurni.  There was a demonstration not to arrest the editor.
