New Delhi: The difficulties of Jagdish Tytler, former Congress MP and accused of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, seem to be increasing once again. The CBI, which is probing the riots after 39 years of the incident, summoned Tytler once again on Tuesday (April 11). Congress leader Jagdish Tytler today appeared before the CBI to give his voice sample in Delhi's Pul Bangash Gurdwara case related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, where further proceedings are on. The Central Forensic Science Lab (CFSL) will examine the voice sample. According to reports, an official has informed that Congress leader Jagdish Tytler has been summoned by the CBI to collect his voice sample in connection with the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case in the Pul Bangash area of Delhi. The official said that the CBI has come across new evidence in the 39-year-old anti-Sikh riots case, after which there is a need to take Tytler's voice sample. Let us tell you that during the anti-Sikh riots, three people were allegedly killed in the Pul Bangash area. Following the assassination of the then-prime minister, Indira Gandhi, by her Sikh bodyguards in 1984, there were violent attacks on the Sikh community in the country. Many Sikhs were taken out of their homes, tied with tyres, and set on fire. The violence against Sikhs had increased so much that people in the Sikh community were saving their lives by cutting their hair and beards and changing their identities. At the same time, Rajiv Gandhi, who became PM after Indira's assassination, had said about this violence that, when a big tree falls, the earth shakes a little. Let us tell you that the name of Congress leader Kamal Nath also came up in the case of this violence, but the charges against him could not be proved due to a lack of evidence. It is said that 8,000 to 17,000 Sikhs were killed in these riots.
