Skill India Mission: Govt will provide training and jobs to youth, know how you can avail benefits

Skill India Mission was launched in 2015 to provide skill training to the youth population of the country and provide them employment. Under the scheme, a target of imparting skill based training to about 24 lakh youth in the country every year was set. The Skill India Mission aims to integrate and monitor skill development schemes across the country. Under this Mission, candidates are imparted industry related skill training so that they can start their own employment. Under the scheme, training is imparted to candidates who are undereducated or drop out of school between 10th-12th standard.

In which areas is training imparted? The Government wants to bring the training imparted under it as per international norms so that candidates can be included in the Work Force every year. Under the scheme, unemployed candidates are trained in about 40 technical fields like construction, electronics and hardware, furniture and fittings, handicrafts and leather technology. It is also known as the National Skill Development Mission. The scheme aims to provide employment to the candidates as well as enable them to generate employment for others themselves. Through the Skill Development Scheme, the Government aims to make more than one crore people self-reliant by imparting skill training every five years.
