Smartphones still running older versions: Bitdefender has said that, 'We'll still be able to find devices running versions of Android released a decade ago, and they're more popular than you might think.' To substantiate its claims, the company tested smartphones using the Bitdefender app. There are a large number of devices that haven't upgraded to Android 12 or Android 11. So far 36.47% of smartphones have been updated to Android 12. And 29.15% of the devices are running Android 11. Note that Android 10 is still equipped with 15.03% of devices. Therefore, 35% of Android smartphones coming worldwide are no longer going to receive security patches, leaving the door open for hackers.
