Ahmedabad: The Surat Police of Gujarat has arrested a woman on charges of smuggling drugs. The accused woman has been identified as Hina Sheikh. Police have recovered 507 grammes of banned mephedrone from the woman's possession. The cost of these drugs is said to be more than Rs 50 lakh. According to the report, the accused, Hina Sheikh, was handling the drug business after her husband went to jail. The police had received input from an informer that a woman was doing drug business under the guise of a burkha. Since then, the police have kept an eye on the accused woman. After which, the police raided her house and seized Rs 10,000 in cash and a mobile phone, along with 507 grammes of mephodrone. The value of the recovered drugs is said to be more than Rs 50 lakh. The police say that a person named Sahil Arvind Bhai Gosain used to supply drugs to Hina Sheikh. Sahil used to bring drugs from Mumbai and supply them in Gujarat. Along with this, the Gujarat Police is also looking for a person named Wasim Mustaq Mirza Sheikh. It is alleged that Wasim is also involved in this black business of drugs. As per reports, Hina Sheikh's husband, Ismail Mubarak Sheikh, is lodged in Surat jail in Gujarat. It is alleged that he also used to deal in drugs. The police seized cocaine from him. Apart from this, there is also an allegation of attempted murder. It is being told that after Ismail went to jail, Hina had taken over the drug business. In this case, Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar says that since September 2020, the police are running a campaign called 'No Drugs in Surat City'.
