Snow alert in J&K, Cold wave to abate across India

Srinagar: Light to heavy snowfall has been predicted in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the next two days. The minimum temperature has increased at most places in the valley. 'The state is expected to receive snowfall from Saturday evening to Monday evening and there may be heavy snowfall on Sunday,' the Met department said.

On the other hand, the impact of snowfall (Snowfall) in the mountains is also visible in the plains states. Cold wave conditions have intensified in many parts of north India including Delhi, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar. The unseasonal rain has done the right thing. The Met department has said that snowfall will start in Jammu and Kashmir from Saturday night and gradually intensify on Sunday.

Officials said light snowfall is expected in the plains of Kashmir, while moderate (six to seven inches) of snowfall is likely in high altitude areas. He said there may also be heavy snowfall at some places of height. Light to heavy rain is expected in most parts of the Jammu region. Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded a temperature of minus 0.7 degrees Celsius on Friday night which was 2.4 degrees Celsius higher than the previous night.
