New Year is around the corner. Very soon we will be in 2018. Did you plan anything for 2018 not yet, so please do read this article for some great events which are going too held in 2018. Believe me, these events have to be on your travel bucket list.

 FIFA WORLD CUP IN RUSSIA

The largest country on earth, hosting the biggest sporting event on the planet — next year’s FIFA World Cup certainly isn’t going to disappoint, especially now that the Socceroos have qualified.

Kicking off (literally) in June it’s the culmination of fours years of heated competition between almost every nation in the world.

A bucket list event for sports nuts, the 21st World Cup will be the most-watched sporting events in history. The first and final matches will be played in Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium — a 145-hectare Olympic complex, which is one of the largest ever built. Talk about being pitch perfect.

SYDNEY MARDI GRAS

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost 40 years have passed since the first group of equality pioneers marched down Sydney’s Oxford Street.

The groundbreaking walk that took place back on June 24, 1978, is cemented in the history books and 2018 marks the official 40th anniversary of what has become one of the biggest events on the city’s annual calendar.

Themed around the evolution of mardi gras, the upcoming Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival, promises to be extra special.

BILLION DOLLAR THEME PARK OPENS IN ABU DHABI

2018 is the year when the likes of Batman, Superman and Bugs Bunny will make their mark on the Middle East thanks to the opening of a US $1 billion Warner Bros. theme park in Abu Dhabi.

Located on the Emirate’s Yas Island — currently home to a Formula 1 racetrack and the Ferrari World park — the upcoming 1.65 million-square-feet wonderland will include everything from live entertainment to daredevil rides. Standout features will include Batman’s Gotham City and Superman’s Metropolis, while Cartoon Junction will bring together classic animated characters, such as Bugs Bunny and Scooby-doo.

BIGGEST PICASSO EXHIBITION OPENS IN LONDON

Art-lovers need to make a beeline for London next year when the new Picasso 1932 — Love, Fame, Tragedy exhibitions open at the city’s Tate Modern. Tagged as a “once in a lifetime” event, the collection brings together the largest number of Picasso works ever see — more than 100 pieces, including rarely loaned gems.
