New Delhi: Interim President of Congress Sonia Gandhi has called a special committee meeting, upset by the defeat in Bihar assembly elections and by-elections in many parts of the country. This Congress meeting is to be held at 5 pm today. The meeting will be through video conferencing though the agenda of the meeting is not set. This meeting of the Congress is being held at a time when the issue of review in the party is emerging after the defeat in the election. It is noteworthy that before this, Congress MP Karti Chidambaram said on Monday about the latest statement of party veteran Kapil Sibal against the backdrop of the party's shameful performance in the Bihar Assembly elections, that it is time for the Congress to introspect, contemplate and deliberate. Sibal has said in an interview that it seems that the party leadership has accepted defeat in every election as their destiny. He also said that not only Bihar but also from the results of the by-elections, it seems that the people of the country are not considering the Congress Party as an effective alternative. While sharing the link to this interview on Monday, Sibal tweeted, retweeting that Karthi Chidambaram said, "It's time for introspection, contemplation and deliberation."
