Sonia Gandhi's attack on PM Modi, says an attempt is being made to pit Indian against Indians

New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi by writing an article in a newspaper on the current tense socio-political situation in the country. Sonia Gandhi has said that should the country be in a state of permanent polarisation? The ruling establishment clearly wants the citizens of India to believe that such an environment is in their best interest. Whether it is the dress, the food, the faith, the festival or the language.

Sonia said that an attempt is made to pit Indians against Indians and every incentive is given directly and indirectly to the forces that create discord. An ongoing interpretation of the history of both ancient and contemporary types is sought to be made in order to promote prejudice, hostility and retaliation. Sonia Gandhi further said that it is a tragedy that instead of using our resources to create a bright and new future for the country and to put the young mind into positive work, time and valuable assets are being used in efforts to reshape the present in the context of a fictional past.

Sonia further said that there is a lot of discussion from the Prime Minister regarding the acceptance of India's diversities. But the bitter truth is that the immense diversity that has defined and enriched our society for centuries during his rule is being used to divide us.
