Lucknow: The legislature of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Atul Pradhan from Sardhana assembly seat in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh seems to be in danger. In fact, after the petition filed by Sangeet Som, BJP's candidate in the assembly elections, the Allahabad High Court has sent a notice to Atul Pradhan on Friday. In the petition filed by Sangeet Som, Atul Pradhan has been accused of concealing criminal cases. Making this the basis, the legislature of Atul Pradhan has been challenged. Justice JJ Munir has issued notice to Atul Pradhan and has fixed July 4 as the next date of hearing. The High Court also directed that Atul Pradhan will appear before the court on the next date of hearing and submit his written statement along with all the documents. According to the counsel for Sangeet Som, while filing his nomination on January 19, 2022 from Sardhana assembly constituency in Meerut district, Atul Pradhan had not disclosed the 11 criminal cases pending against him. It was told that charge sheet has been filed in all these pending cases and cognizance has also been taken. It has also been said on behalf of former MLA Sangeet Som's lawyer KR Singh that not giving information about 11 criminal cases is a violation of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, which will nullify the election of the candidate. Let us inform that in the assembly elections held in March this year, Sageet Som was defeated by Atul Pradhan by 18 thousand 200 votes from Sardhana seat of Meerut district.
