New Delhi: The salary of MLAs in the national capital Delhi including all allowances will now be 90 thousand rupees. According to Saurabh Bhardwaj, Chief Spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), after seven years there has been a suggestion from the Central Government to increase the salary of MLAs of Delhi from 12 thousand to 30 thousand, which will be 90 thousand rupees including all allowances.
Saurabh said that it is not that the salary of MLAs has increased now. Right now it will be placed in the Delhi Assembly, passed and then notified. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that when we became MLA, the salary was 12 thousand rupees. We passed a bill to increase it and sent it to the central government. That bill was stuck from 2015 to 2022. The salary of the MLAs in the Delhi Assembly for seven years was about Rs 12,000. Apart from this, he used to get 54,000 rupees including Assembly Constituency Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Telephone Allowance, Secretariat Allowance and allowances.
He further said that when a bill was sent to the Central Government in this regard, there was a suggestion from the Central Government to increase the salary from 12 thousand to 30 thousand. The central government has given permission to increase the Rs 54,000 that MLAs used to get earlier to 90 thousand.
