SP MLA thrashed BJP leader inside police station, created ruckus

Lucknow: A day before the Uttar Pradesh civic polls, the bullying of the Samajwadi Party MLA from Amethi has come to the fore. Samajwadi Party MLA Rakesh Pratap has thrashed Deepak Singh, husband of Bharatiya Janata Party's civic body election candidate, in the presence of the police in the police station. The whole incident is of Gauriganj Kotwali.

A day before the same polling, the atmosphere in Gauriganj Municipality has become very tense. Gauriganj MLA Rakesh Pratap Singh, who has been protesting since Tuesday evening, became very furious on the second day due to the antics being done by the supporters of the BJP candidate on the police. The MLA and his supporters started taking the police to the dock, accusing the police of saving the BJP supporters. The police force of several police stations was called outside the Kotwali. Meanwhile, the MLA also threatened to take out his pistol. Only then BJP candidate Rashmi Singh's husband Deepak Singh was seen going out of Kotwali. 

Samajwadi Party supporters surrounded him and started beating his car in the presence of the police. To escape slowly, Deepak Singh rammed his vehicle inside the police station. Where the Samajwadi Party MLA and his supporters thrashed the BJP candidate's husband inside the police station. MLA's nephew Arunendra Singh also got hurt in the melee. The police somehow pulled out the BJP candidate's husband and saved his life. After that, some supporters of BJP also came inside the police station. Seeing the worsening of the situation, Captain Dr. Elamaran ji reached Gauriganj Kotwali along with the police of many police stations. Some Samajwadi Party workers have also been beaten up outside. Both sides are adamant on demanding a trial. At present the situation is very tense.
