In a move to facilitate smooth travel for devotees attending the 'Pran Pratishta' ceremony at the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, SpiceJet has revealed plans to operate a special flight from Delhi on January 21, 2024. The consecration ceremony is scheduled for January 22, and the airline aims to ensure a hassle-free travel experience for passengers participating in this auspicious event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya on December 30, providing improved connectivity to the holy city. The airline's special flight is set to depart from Delhi at 1:30 pm on January 21, reaching Ayodhya by 3 pm. To accommodate the return journey, a flight is scheduled for the following day, taking off from Ayodhya at 5 pm and landing in Delhi at 6:30 pm. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared on Thursday that an estimated 100 chartered flights are anticipated to arrive at the Ayodhya airport for the grand consecration ceremony on January 22. The announcement by SpiceJet reflects the concerted efforts to facilitate the travel needs of devotees and ensure their participation in this significant event at the historic Ram temple. Ayodhya Airport Set to Serve Over 1 Million Passengers: In its initial phase, Ayodhya Airport is poised to accommodate more than 1 million passengers annually, with projections indicating a substantial increase to 6 million commuters annually in the subsequent phase. The Phase 1 project, costing over Rs 1,450 crore, has resulted in the development of a cutting-edge airport to meet the growing demand. The terminal building at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport spans an impressive 6,500 sq m, designed to efficiently handle the significant influx of passengers. Notably, the facade of the terminal reflects the architectural style of the forthcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. On a recent Wednesday, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) assumed responsibility for the security of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya. Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a comprehensive plan that incorporates advanced security measures and traffic management strategies. As part of this initiative, the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) has been seamlessly integrated with 1,500 public CCTV cameras throughout the city, ensuring vigilant surveillance. Additionally, Ayodhya's yellow zone will be equipped with 10,715 AI-based cameras featuring face recognition technology, all seamlessly integrated with ITMS and monitored from a central control room. The concerted efforts aim to enhance security and streamline traffic management in and around the expanded Ayodhya Airport.
