Ayodhya's upcoming Ram temple is set to receive an array of unique gifts from various parts of India and even abroad ahead of its consecration ceremony on January 22. The offerings include a 108-foot-long incense stick, a 2,100-kg bell, a 1,100-kg giant lamp, gold footwear, a 10-foot-high lock and key, and a clock that displays time in eight countries simultaneously.
These special gifts aim to enhance the religious atmosphere of the grand temple, and the artists behind them hope they will be used in the temple's ceremonies. The diverse gifts are pouring in from all corners of the country and beyond.
Notably, more than 3,000 gifts, such as silver shoes, ornaments, and clothes, have arrived from Janakpur in Nepal, the birthplace of Sita. A convoy of around 30 vehicles transported these gifts from the Janakpur Dham Ramjanaki Temple to Ayodhya.
A diamond merchant named Kaushik Kakadiya, who is the director of Rasesh Jewel based in Surat, presented a diamond necklace adorned with 5,000 American diamonds as a tribute to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This masterpiece is intricately designed on the theme of the Ram Temple, with meticulous attention given to every detail. The artist has chosen to gift this extraordinary necklace to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
A delegation from Sri Lanka also presented a unique gift – a rock from the Ashok Vatika, a garden mentioned in the epic Ramayana where Ravan captivated Sita.
As the first phase of the temple nears completion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the consecration ceremony. The gifts showcase the widespread support and enthusiasm for the temple, which follows a historic 2019 Supreme Court verdict allowing the construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site.
In preparation for the grand ceremony, the temple authorities have been receiving numerous gifts, including the impressive 108-foot-long incense stick from Gujarat. Crafted over six months, the environmentally friendly stick is made of various ingredients, such as guggul, coconut shells, ghee, and cow dung.
Other notable gifts include a 44-foot-long brass flag pole and a gold foil nagaru (temple drum) from Gujarat, a symbolic lock and key weighing 400 kg from Uttar Pradesh, and a 2,100-kg bell made of 'ashtadhatu' from Etah.
The diverse and elaborate gifts reflect the collective devotion and contributions of people from different regions and cultures towards the construction and consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
