Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized the Congress party for declining the invitation to the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Sarma expressed his opinion that the Congress should not have been invited in the first place, stating that the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) had given them an opportunity to "repair some of their sins," which they missed. He emphasized that the Congress's role in delaying the Ayodhya case in court raised doubts about their eligibility to participate in the ceremony.
