New Delhi: The upper ceiling price for boarding and accommodation for Indian athletes and team officials has been increased by 66%, said the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS). Under the Ministry's Scheme of Assistance to National Sports Federations (NSFs), this is for athletes and officials solely competing in international competitions. Athletes and support staff will now be eligible for USD 250 per day under the newly updated standard, up from the previous standard of USD 150 per day, when going for authorised tournaments overseas (foreign exposures). The revision was made in response to requests from NSFs who complained that charges for boarding and accommodation set by the competitions' Local Organising Committee (LOC) were higher than the previous cap of USD 150 per day. These boarding and lodging standards were established back in November 2015, and it has been eight years since they were last revised. The NSFs will be able to provide athletes with somewhat nicer lodgings when they compete and represent their country at various international competitions as to the increase in the ceiling for boarding and lodging. Further, in line with current trends, the Local Organising Committees (LOC) of International Competitions now provide the competing teams with a full hospitality package as opposed to only boarding and accommodation as was the case in the past. Boarding, housing, local transportation, and occasionally entry costs are all included in the package. The package's overall price is significantly higher than USD 150 per person each day. These factors have made it necessary to revisit the boarding and lodging standards set in 2015. Sweden's 2030 Winter Games bid on Track Former-Brazil boss Scolari to lead Atletico Mineiro
